About this opportunity
The opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and energetic casual Kitchen Steward, who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, to join our busy kitchen team at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Ross Street, Benowa, Gold Coast. Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will actively move through the resort and work in the main production kitchen & other smaller outlet kitchens, to:
- Ensure the kitchen, food preparation & scullery areas are a clean and hygienic work environment
- Clean dishes, utensils and equipment
- Handle and use chemicals safely
- Operate dishwashing equipment
- Move catering equipment
- Dispose of waste
- Deep clean kitchens
- Perform duties to a high standard
We are looking for:
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts between 5am - 1-2am, across a 7-day rotating roster on weekdays, weekends, evenings & public holidays
- Previous kitchen stewarding or cleaning experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort or similar environment
- Previous experience using a commercial dishwasher advantageous
- General knowledge of catering equipment, cleaning and hygienic kitchen procedures
- Safe food handling certificate, desirable
- Can take direction and follow instructions or work independently & show initiative
- Friendly, positive can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
- Work well with others in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, be organised and demonstrate good time management skills
- The ability to comfortably lift 20kgs and perform repetitive manual tasks safely
- Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent personal presentation
